RadarDesk 1.1 for Windows

RadarDesk includes built-in tools to help diagnose live-data, location, display, database, weather, and licensing issues.

Start with the built-in User Guide

Open Help → User's Guide in RadarDesk for procedures and troubleshooting. In 1.1, Help → What's New in RadarDesk 1.1 opens the bundled feature guide. Live traffic is not appearing

1. Confirm that your computer can reach the selected service: internet access for online providers, or your network receiver for a configured Local ADS-B source.
2. Open Settings → Provider and use the connection test.
3. Try another supported ADS-B provider.
4. Confirm that your selected location and display range cover an area with current traffic.
5. In 1.1, compare the provider aircraft count and request radius on Alerts with the visible scope. Display filters, including the default hide-untyped-targets setting, can reduce the visible total.
6. Open Tools → Display Log and review the newest entries.

Maps, weather, or surfaces are unavailable

These layers use separate online services and may load at different times. Check your connection, wait briefly after a location or range change, and review the status indicators and Display Log. Coverage and availability vary by location and provider.

1.1: backgrounds, charts, and home viewing

MAPS hides only the selected raster background; GEO controls geographic overlays separately. FAA VFR and IFR charts open in the dedicated CHARTS window, not as a scope background. Cached charts can be reused, but check their edition status before relying on the document.

CENTER HOME requires a valid enabled Home marker. It selects a 5 NM view and the configured Home Faces direction. Its lock keeps that view when you select another airport; the airport selection and Airport Activity still update. A local receiver's physical coverage does not expand when you select a more distant airport.

1.1: labels or aircraft appear to be missing

Check Settings → Scope for selected-aircraft-only details, label content, stopped-ground-aircraft labels, and targets without an aircraft type. The stopped-ground option hides labels, not aircraft symbols; selecting the target restores its label if the target is otherwise permitted. The untyped-target filter hides the target itself, except for mapped OPS operations vehicles. Ground motion may pause when new confirmed positions are unavailable; smoothing cannot replace missing provider reports.

Licensing help

Open Tools → License Status to review the active license source, import a signed personal license, or refresh Microsoft Store license status. If a trial has ended or no production license is active, live polling and licensed features remain unavailable until a valid license is applied.

Information to include in a support request

• Your RadarDesk version from the title bar or About dialog
• Your Windows version
• The selected provider and airport/location
• A brief description of what you expected and what occurred
• A privacy-scrubbed support bundle or relevant recent Display Log entries, with any private details removed
